Carol
The office-manager archetype of the entire saga. Twenty-two years at the same firm, sole proprietor of the candy dish, running the business from a swivel chair while the attorneys believe they are in charge. She has not been thanked since the Clinton administration.
She is the gatekeeper who decides everything and signs nothing, and she is starving for someone to make her life easier instead of more documented. That is the entire reason the narrator wins her over in about four seconds.
“You must be the computer fella.”
